My youngest daughter’s oldest guinea pig was not all right this morning. He seemed unable to use his hind legs and given his advanced age, we were worried.
We ended up at our vet clinic to check him out.
The exotic animal vet, (odd to think of a guinea pig as exotic) was not in, but the one we saw was very enthusiastic if befuddled.
She examined him quite thoroughly, clipped his overlong nails and gave us a prescription for a pain reliever/anti-inflammatory (which we already have in the economy version size for our two elderly dogs).
While we were waiting for her to return with the right dosage amount, Chocolate (the guinea pig) decided he had just had enough and hid his little face in the curve of his doting girlMom’s hand.
